SUMMARY:NFCC Health\, Safety & Wellbeing Conference 2026
DESCRIPTION:19–21 January | Park Regis Hotel\, Birmingham   \nThe National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) is pleased to announce its first Health\, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Conference\, bringing together key themes and priorities for the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) into one unified event.  \nThis conference is designed to:  \n\nAlign sector-wide strategies across health\, safety\, and wellbeing. \n\n\nReduce FRS budget pressures by consolidating previously separate events. \n\n\nFoster collaboration\, innovation\, and leadership across the FRS. \n\nThe conference will begin at 1pm on 19th (registration and networking available from 11.30am) and will run through to lunchtime on 21st. There will be a range of different ticket options available\, so attendees are able to choose whether to attend the whole event or pick days with specific subject areas.   \nA draft agenda is available to view here\, and programme highlights are below. \nConference Programme Highlights  \nDay 1/2: Health & Wellbeing  \n\nNFCC PCL Updates including:\n\n\nLaunch of the NFCC Suicide prevention toolkit.\n\n\nFit for Duty screening tool.\n\n\nFire Fighters Charity: support services\, case studies\, and partnership opportunities.  \n\n\nThe Importance of nutrition in supporting wellbeing.  \n\n\nHealth\, Safety and Wellbeing from a leadership lens – how do leaders support and manage wellbeing?\n\n\nManaging Physical fitness and standards and implementation across services.  \n\n\nValidity\, Reliability and Usability of Personal Heat Stress Monitors.\n\nDay 2/3: Health & Safety  \n\nWorking Time: shift pattern research\, fatigue management\, and tech-based monitoring.  \n\n\nPPE & RPE: innovations\, fit testing\, and procurement challenges. \n\n\nContaminants: NFCC workstream updates\, incident case studies\, and research findings. \n\n\nHuman Behaviour: behavioural science and contamination compliance. \n\n\nSafed: assurance models and sector support. \n\n\nFRIC: risk management tools and sector-wide profiles. \n\n\nHSE: future inspection priorities and engagement strategy. \n\nFlexible Ticketing Options  \nBe part of this fundamental conference for the FRS. SUMMARY:Blue Light Mental Health Symposium
DESCRIPTION:NFCC are honoured this year to be hosting our annual collaborative Blue Light Mental Health Symposium taking place on 14th January in Birmingham. \nBuilding on previous years we have an informed\, immersive programme lined up which will be released shortly.  The day will focus on three key areas: culture\, family support and suicide prevention and will be made up of a mixture of keynote speakers\, workshops and interactive sessions. \nA agenda is now available Blue Light Mental Health Symposium Agenda with some key programme highlights are listed below: \n\nCulture Panel sessions including cultural change journeys and experiences\nCreating cultural factors for wellbeing and resilience\nFamily support sessions including; Building family support looking at evidence based police research with the Open University\, engagement with families and challenges and The Fire Fighters Charity on family support.\nSuicide prevention – expert panel – Data-enabled change; what are recent trials and research telling us\, and how can we enact positive change as a result\nSuicide prevention and postvention break out sessions – Prevention; Organisational response and postvention; Individual and community impact\n\nThe night prior to the conference we will be hosting a networking event at the venue from 7pm-8pm.  All are welcome but please do select the option to attend below if you are attending as we will need to have a list of all attendees on the evening. \nThe conference ticket doesn’t include accommodation but there are many hotels very close by to suit all budgets. \nSuppliers to the sector \nWe will offering the opportunity for suppliers to the blue light community to promote their products and brand alongside the conference. Information on event sponsorship and exhibiting is available here. \n  \nImportant Booking Information: Please do not book tickets that state ‘Bookable by NFCC Staff only’ – these tickets are for speakers and can only be booked by the NFCC events team.
