Key Requirements
We’re looking for someone who:
• Is a qualified and experienced tactical-level Incident Commander
o Holds a Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management (e.g. CMI, ILM or equivalent), or can demonstrate equivalent practical experience at Group Manager level
o Possesses Incident Command Level 3 (Advanced Incident Command) or has comparable hands-on experience
• Understands the Fire and Rescue Service inside and out, with proven success in managing teams, budgets, and operational resources
• Has a track record of driving innovation and delivering improvements within a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Excels at stakeholder engagement, able to articulate broader strategies and vision while still focusing on day-to-day needs
• Demonstrates strong self-awareness, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing public service delivery
• Can provide operational cover from a base within Leicester, Leicestershire, or Rutland when on duty

Salary: Area Manager, Development £67,792.08 Area Manager, Competent £74,360 plus a 20% flexible duty allowance and 10% strategic allowance.
