The role

We’re pleased to offer some exciting opportunities for eligible candidates to join WMFS’s specialist Fire Engineering Team.

The team covers all fire engineering and Primary Authority Scheme (PAS) related project work on behalf of WMFS. This involves considering fire engineered design solutions as part of the building regulations consultation process for major projects, across the West Midlands, and supporting our partner’s requirements through the PAS.

There are several vacancies which include both permanent and temporary positions.


The successful candidate will preferably possess a fire engineering degree, with experience in evaluating fire engineered solutions in the built environment.

They should have a good understanding of fire engineering related design guidance and good working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.

Consideration maybe given to someone established in the process of completing a fire engineering degree, through a conditional appointment.

We’re looking for highly motivated individuals, with excellent communication skills, who will be able to foster good relationships with other professionals, authorities and third parties to facilitate and undertake work.

An opportunity will be given to grey book candidates, where appropriate to develop towards competence in EFSM 2.

Please note: This role requires a Basic DBS check.
