Fire Safety Watch Manager – West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service
Your role will be vital in keeping those who work, live, and visit West Sussex safe through being responsible for carrying out Fire Safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRFSO) and other relevant legislation. You will require excellent communication and leadership skills to enable you to manage a team, progress our quality assurance process, and support businesses to understand and comply with their statutory duties under the RRFSO by carrying out engagement, training and seminar type activities as well as assisting the Service to access those hard to reach parts of our diverse communities

You will have the ability to build and maintain ongoing relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders to work within the regulators code and the Fire Safety Order
Have effective interpersonal skills to inform and influence members of the business community/responsible persons regarding Fire Safety Legislation.
Be able to influence persons with control over premises to change, adapt or alter their premises to ensure they are safe from fire.
Have the ability to manage risk and apply it to Fire Safety legislation.
Have the ability to analyse information to formulate and implement Fire Safety solutions in a variety of premises.
Essential Qualifications:
Substantive competent Watch Manager who has demonstrated competence against the requirements of the NFCC Watch Manager role map.
Incident Command Level 1 (Initial)
IOSH Supervising Safely or equivalent H&S qualification/training.
Current driving licence
Level 4 Fire Safety Certificate
Experience
Leading the work of teams/individuals to achieve their objectives & support development
Investigating and reporting on events to inform future practice.
Experience of leading and supporting people to resolve operational incidents.
A working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Legislation and its application to the Fire and Rescue Service.
Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the core values and the national fire and rescue service leadership framework.
Carrying out quality assurance processes.
Salary: £42,672 to £46,70 per annum plus 10% allowance
