Background:
The current Cyber Lead has stepped down after two years in the role during which the Cyber Leads Forum was formed and work has been undertaken to build relationships with the Home Office and NCSC to improve the cyber resilience of the sector, so we are seeking someone to step into that role and take on the next phase of this work.
Governance Structure:
The Cyber Leads Forum meets quarterly and feeds into the ICT Managers Forum, Chaired by Julian Martin, CIO, LFB. The forums feed into the NFCC Digital, Technology and Cyber Board and then into the NFCC DDaT Committee.
The holder of the position will work closely with the NFCC Digital, Technology and Cyber Lead, Gillian Fyfe.
Key elements of this role include:
- Engaging with sector Cyber Leads across services and encouraging active participation.
- Chairing and developing the quarterly Cyber Leads Forum with support from NFCC.
- Sharing relevant updates with the ICT Managers Forum.
- Being a member of and participating in, the NFCC Digital, Technology and Cyber Board.
- Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues in agencies including Home Office, MHCLG, HMICFRS, NCSC and NPSA.
- Driving adoption of the Digital and Cyber Fire Standard and associated guidance.
- Supporting and/or leading working groups when required, with support from NFCC to produce and update relevant guidance, position statements and resources to assist in good practice.
- Having a strong and consistent voice on the requirements of the sector to build and maintain cyber resilience.
- Supporting the delivery of the Cyber Action Plan (CAP) and implementation of the CAF across the sector
- Supporting the growth of communication platforms, including CISP and Teams.
You should have:
- Experience of the operational and strategic delivery of cyber security in fire and rescue, and an understanding of the key drivers and challenges.
- A good understanding of the issues and difference in approaches in devolved nations and varying governance models across the UK.
- The passion to drive change in the sector and bring others with you.
- Experience of engaging at national level with multiple stakeholders and the wider industry sector, including central government.
