About the role

Due to internal promotion, we are recruiting for a part time Supplies and PPE Technician to join our Supplies Team based in Wiltshire.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and experienced team who are passionate about delivering integral supplies across the Service.

This is a varied and interesting role where you would act as a first point of contact for the Supplies Warehouse based at Trowbridge Fire Station to include taking in deliveries of stock, overseeing storage of stock and stock checks, maintaining accurate records on the Asset Management System and providing a Sizing Service to all Uniformed Employees for kit such as uniform, PPE and breathing apparatus. The successful postholder will undertake regular driving duties in a Service van to support with the PPE laundry provision.

This role requires the postholder to have excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly. In this role you would be the first point of contact for the Warehouse, you would meet new recruits to complete the sizing service function, as well as speaking with Suppliers and internal employees on a daily basis either face to face, on the telephone or via email.

  • You must be able to fulfil all essential requirements of the role as listed on the Person Specification.
  • You must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the role. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available. Please note Service vehicles are manual transmission only. If you are unable to drive due to a disability, we would still welcome your application and will explore any reasonable adjustments that could be put in place.
  • The role involves some evening and weekend working.
  • A Standard Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment.
