Cordon controls: Boil-over
Control Measure Knowledge
This control measure should be read in conjunction with Cordon controls
Where a boil-over is suspected or predicted, the incident commander should be vigilant for signs of a boil-over and ensure crews are at a suitable distance away if a boil-over is imminent. A boil-over is usually preceded by a period of quieter burning followed by a marked heightening and brightening of the flames.
