Incidents on or near railways

On 22 October 2025, the Operational Preparedness, Response and Resilience Committee approved new Fire Control Guidance for Incidents on or near railways.

This is the first topic of what will incrementally be developed for the Fire Control Guidance for Transport.

It incorporates content provided in the JESIP/Network Rail publication of Rail incidents: Guidance to the Emergency Services for Access to the Railway Infrastructure, which had recently undergone a multi-agency review.
