Removal of smart rings

Change request reference O.G. CC 117 was endorsed by the NFCC Operational Guidance Forum on 8 December 2025, and approved by the NFCC Operational Preparedness, Response and Resilience Committee on 15 January 2026.

User feedback indicated that Operational Guidance did not provide any content relating to the removal of smart rings. This change request provides guidance for their removal.

In the process of developing this change request, it was identified that there was a gap in control measure knowledge and tactical actions about the removal of jewellery. The opportunity to add this content has been taken.
