Competency framework examples

The NFCC and UKRO have collaborated to produce an example competency framework. It is based on National Operational Guidance and is aligned with UKRO good practice, to provide activity level training specifications for fire and rescue services. Unlike our training specifications this content is aimed at practical activities and is levelled to allow FRS to identify different standards of competence linked to vehicle extrication.

The content is not guidance and FRS can choose to approach competency in different ways that suit their local risk, but this example provides a structured and robust approach recognised by our partners.
