Fire contaminants risk assessment – Post fire incident consultation

National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) are seeking feedback on a suite of fire contaminants risk assessment templates designed to support fire and rescue services in developing and reviewing local risk assessments. The templates identify common hazards associated with exposure to fire contaminants and provide control measures for services to consider.

This consultation relates to the proposed risk assessment template for post fire incidents. The assessment addresses the foreseeable hazards associated with fire contaminants that may remain within the incident environment following firefighting activities, including contaminants present on personnel, personal protective equipment (PPE), equipment and vehicles.
