Fire contaminants risk assessment – Support and other vehicles consultation

National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) are seeking feedback on a suite of fire contaminants risk assessment templates designed to support fire and rescue services in developing and reviewing local risk assessments. The templates identify common hazards associated with exposure to fire contaminants and provide control measures for services to consider.

This consultation relates to the proposed risk assessment template for support and other vehicles. The assessment considers the potential for fire contaminants to be introduced through contaminated personnel, personal protective equipment (PPE), equipment, materials and environments, and outlines control measures to minimise exposure during vehicle use, inspection, cleaning, maintenance, repair and decontamination activities.
