Operational Preparedness and Operational Competence Fire Standards

Welcome to the consultation for the Operational Competence and Operational Preparedness Fire Standards which have recently been reviewed as part of the Fire Standards Board review programme.

The Fire Standards for Operational Competence and Operational Preparedness were among the first Fire Standards to be published back in February 2021. Since their publication, the Fire Standards Board have published a total of nineteen Fire Standards.

The Board have committed to the regular review of published Fire Standards to ensure that they remain appropriate for the benefit of the sector.

This consultation seeks to gather views about the proposed amendments to each Fire Standard as well as the impact on the organisations that will be expected to align to them. Some questions may only be relevant if you work for a fire and rescue service within England.
