Pre-review survey for Fires in waste sites

As part of our maintenance process, we want to make sure that our Operational Guidance meets your needs. Before we begin our scheduled review in 2026, we would like your opinion of the currently published Operational Guidance for Fires in waste sites.

The main aim of this research is to ensure the revised guidance is as current and complete as possible, so please let us know if there are any errors or omissions that need to be addressed.

Please provide sufficient detail in your comments for us to determine what content they relate to, along with the line number of the PDF document. Some of the hazards and control measures are shown in grey text without line numbers; these are published elsewhere in the Operational Guidance framework and therefore are not included in this review.

You may find that some of the hyperlinks do not work, especially if they point to other pieces of Operational Guidance that have recently been updated, or if they point to outdated external sites. We will update the links during the review.

The survey will be open for six weeks, and will close at midday on Monday, 3 November 2025. This survey platform will allow you to ‘Save and continue’ completion of your responses. If you use this option, you will be sent an email with a link to enable you to rejoin the survey.
