• Provide personnel with access to up-to-date information on alternative fuel vehicles
• Consider making electrical gloves available for personnel to use at incidents involving live electricity supply

Incident commanders should

• Identify isolation points for alternative fuel vehicles (AFV)
• Avoid any contact with high-voltage systems
• Consider the appropriate use of electrical gloves, in line with service procedures
• Consider the presence of residual electrical charge in high-voltage systems
• Power down the alternative fuel vehicle using the manufacturer’s guidance
