Corporate Communications Manager- Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Service

About the role

We are seeking to fill an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Corporate Communications Manager.

Reporting directly to the Head of Data, Information and Communications, you will lead the delivery of clear and effective communication that supports the Service in achieving its vision of Creating the Safest Community. This will be accomplished through the successful implementation of the Service Strategy and Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP).

As the Media and Communications Manager, you will:
• Be responsible for developing and leading the Service’s internal and external communications and engagement activities across the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.
• Support the successful delivery of the Service’s Strategy, and strategic goals and priorities, by:

– Driving and managing a range of communications activities.
– Contributing to strategic planning and evaluation activities.
– Providing comprehensive, professional advice and support.
– Managing the Corporate Communications Team.

 

We are seeking a candidate who has demonstrable experience of:

• Working in public relations, journalism, media or communications environment within a complex organisation.
• Managing and leading a communications team, with responsibility for both people and process.
• Liaising with the media / press, with examples of successful outcomes.
• Managing a team workload, including competing demands and priorities.
• The development and implementation of internal and external strategic communications.
• Providing advice and guidance to senior management.
• Delivering multi-faceted media training.
• Managing content management systems / websites.

Salary: £46,142 to £49,282 per annum + benefits
