Fire Control Transferee – Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service
We are looking for applications from current or previous in development or competent Control Firefighters, Control Crew Managers or Control Watch Managers wishing to join Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Control Centre.

Essential criteria for the role
Eligibility:
Candidate is an in development or competent Control Firefighter, Control Crew Manager or Control Watch Manager, either currently employed or have left their Service within the last 4 years
In date Control Licence or equivalent indicator of competence (at point of leaving)
No outstanding ‘unspent’ disciplinary warnings. If you are currently subject to a management enquiry or disciplinary investigation, any appointment and subsequent offer will be subject to a risk assessment on a case-by-case basis
You must:
Have 4 GCSE passes – Grade A*-C / 9-4, including English and Mathematics; or equivalent Level 2 qualification; or higher-level relevant qualification; or have at least six months of relevant experience of working in an emergency service/military environment
Be a minimum of 17 and a half years of age at point of application; however, if successful, you will need to be 18 years old at the point of appointment
Be able to provide a commitment to the shift working pattern
Have the right to work in the UK
Not have any unspent criminal convictions
Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and other software packages, with good keyboard skills
Be able to establish a rapport with callers
Selection Process:
This is an open and ongoing campaign. Selection processes will be undertaken in accordance with workforce and succession planning requirements.
Once you have applied, your application will be reviewed and if you meet our eligibility criteria, you will be progressed to the next stage in the process (psychometric testing).
Salary: £27,970 - £44,372
