General Kitchen Assistant – Essex County Fire and Rescue Service

An incredible opportunity to join our on-site Catering team at our Fire and Rescue Headquarters.    Our friendly and inclusive team are searching for a General Kitchen Assistant to join the team to provide serving and cleaning duties in connection with catering arrangements.

What You Will Be Working On 

  • Carrying out duties under the direction of our Catering team including cleaning, moving and laying tables/chairs and any other locations relating to the function.  Replenishment and cleaning of the vending machine and washing up.
  • Serving food to the canteen users and guests, handling money/till work
  • Reviewing stock levels
  • Assisting with the preparation and ordering of food as required, assisting with booking hospitality
  • Assist with the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Delivery of hospitality beverages and food
  • See in goods in/deliveries
  • To ensure that attitudes and behaviours displayed in the food preparation and service areas are reflective of an appropriate commercial catering facility
  • Support the Catering team with Hospitality deliveries (with use of company vehicle) – Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Positively contribute to a safe working environment

What Are We Looking For? 

Our ideal candidate would have

  • Level 2 standard of educations (eg GCSE)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience of working within the Catering industry
  • Full UK Driving licence

If you are an internal candidate, you must have discussed your application with your line manager and confirmed with them there are no outstanding issues of conduct or performance. This will be verified prior to shortlisting.

Salary: £25,185.00 to £25,989.00 (pro rata)
