Watch Commander Fire Safety – Jersey Fire and Rescue Service

The Fire Safety department in States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (SJFRS) are looking for new team members who are ready to grow and develop in their Fire Safety career. We are looking for individuals with current experience in fire safety and would have operational experience at supervisory level (ICL1). Management experience is required as well as an aptitude to learn and grow into the role.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Ability to lead at the Leading Others level of the NFCC Leadership Framework
Managing others
Commitment to grow and develop others into to the Fire Safety department, we are keen to work with those who want a career in Fire Safety.
Willingness to develop through the Fire Safety Competency Framework and initially work at Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety with progression to attaining the Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design.
Ability to work in a changing environment and to face challenging work and people
Have an inquiring mind to critically assess an issue to establish effective solutions
Strong verbal and written communications skills to engage with a variety of stakeholders and partner agencies
