Hours: 37 per week (8am to 4pm Monday-Thursday, 9am to 3.30pm on Friday)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Transport Engineering workshops in Perry Barr, Birmingham, as a Workshop Cleaner/Labourer.
In this role, you will be responsible for keeping our workshop clean, safe, and well-organised. This includes general cleaning of the workshop and hand-cleaning stations, using an electric floor scrubber for larger areas, and ensuring that tools and equipment are properly restowed after use. You may also be required to use a steam cleaner and other vehicle cleaning equipment to prepare vehicles for service.
This is a physically active role, involving lifting, bending, and manual handling. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
As a Workshop Cleaner/Labourer, you will:
maintain high cleaning and organisational standards within the workshop
manage your workload effectively and take initiative in keeping the workspace safe and tidy
communicate clearly with colleagues and work well as part of a team
ensure cleaning stations in the workshop and toilets are restocked regularly
carry out general cleaning duties, including vehicle cleaning when required
assist technicians with lifting and carrying tasks as needed
be adaptable to changing tasks and deadlines.
Experience and skills
Essential skills or experience
self-motivation and the ability to plan and organise your workload
the physical ability to bend, lift, carry, and perform manual tasks safely and efficiently
an understanding of risk assessments and the importance of keeping work areas clean and free from hazards
willingness to support and assist colleagues when required.
Desirable skills or experience
previous experience using cleaning equipment and an understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) data sheets
a full UK driving licence.
