Smoking, Tobacco and Vaping Lead
Background:
NFCC are looking to recruit an individual to the role of Smoking, Tobacco and Vaping Lead. The position sits under NFCC’s Home Safety Committee which reports to the Prevention Committee.
This role will lead in engaging with the Lead Officers within Home Safety, FRSs, NFCC hub leads and key partners on various and complex issues across the UK.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Have a strong and consistent voice on the issues of Smoking, Tobacco and Vaping
- Actively engage in our multi-agency approach to promote NFCC’s strategy to strengthen the guidance and activity in this area.
- Work with FRS and partners to produce and update relevant guidance to assist in good practice.
- Work closely with the NFCC Strategy and Policy team on any relevant national positions.
The role involves:
- Leading on matters relating to Smoking, Tobacco and Vaping
- Working with relevant external organisations to develop and maintain relationships with FRSs at a strategic level.
- Liaising with agencies and regulators where appropriate to ensure compliance.
- Identify opportunities to collaborate with other NFCC Leads on related topics
We are looking for a strategic manager who has:
- Experience of engaging at a national level with multiple stakeholders and the wider industry sector. This includes central government.
- A good understanding of the current strategy, campaigns and challenges in this area at a local and/or national level.
- A good understanding of the issues and difference in approach required across the UK’s devolved nations.
- A great communicator, who has a real passion for Home Safety.
- Has previous experience of bringing partners together to achieve a common goal.
