NFCC statement on the Crans-Montana fire

Phil Garrigan, Chair of the National Fire Chiefs Council, said:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort in Switzerland during the New Year’s celebrations. Our thoughts are with all those who lost their lives, those who were injured, and the families and loved ones affected by this devastating event. We extend our sincere condolences to the people of Switzerland.

“We also wish to recognise and commend the bravery, professionalism, and dedication of the emergency services and first responders, who acted swiftly and tirelessly under extremely challenging circumstances to save lives and support those in need.”
