End-point Assessment Partnerships

Under the end-point assessment (EPA) partnership, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service offers end-point assessments for the operational firefighter apprenticeship and proudly maintains their registration with the Education and Skills Funding Agency. This Partnership offers an opportunity to expand the current provision and supply services to all fire and rescue services who wish to carry out end-point assessment.

Our partnership is striving to increase the number of fire and rescue services who use the service to assess their Operational Firefighter apprenticeships.

We are working with several Fire & Rescue Services and have received great feedback from firefighters and teams within services who have worked with us during the EPA process.

“We have been using Cornwall FRS/NFCC Partnership as the EPAO for around 3 years now and in that time, I have found the communications and support from the EPA management team to be excellent, allowing the whole gateway and assessment process to run smoothly and efficiently. Cornwall/NFCC have always been flexible and adaptable to our requirements and limitations as a FRS, and I have found the assessors to be knowledgeable, approachable and professional throughout the whole process- WM Apprentice Support Team FRS”

“Brilliant assessors for my EPA couldn’t have asked for more many thanks”.

“Assessors made us feel at ease which allowed us to perform at our best”.

“Scenarios were very good and realistic and enjoyable”

As part of the partnership arrangements, NFCC is also working with Cornwall FRS to develop end-point assessments for other fire-specific apprenticeships including business fire safety advisor, community safety advisor, fire safety inspector and emergency service contact handling.
