Recruitment Hub
Investing in People, Culture and Leadership by providing good practice guidance, tools and improvements at a national level for implementation locally.
The NFCC’s review of the wholetime Firefighter recruitment process back in April 2019 highlighted that nationally there were differing approaches to selection and recruitment practices across the fire and rescue service sector.
The NFCC Fire & Rescue People Strategy 2017 – 2022 identified that recruitment processes need to be fair and transparent. In response, and in collaboration with all UK fire and rescue services, the NFCC has now developed this Recruitment Hub as a centralised resource to provide the basis for a more unified national approach for the sector and one that is suitable for a modern UK fire and rescue service.
By adopting a collaborative approach, it is hoped that we will be able to provide a more comparable candidate journey across the sector and better support transfers between fire and rescue services. We will also potentially support the value for money agenda by avoiding the unnecessary replication of process and asset development by each individual fire and rescue service.
Content has been curated from across the UK nationally and provides a comprehensive collection of information, guidance, best practice, and tools to support you as you develop your own bespoke selection and recruitment approach, tailored to your own unique context.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the development of this Recruitment Hub for their help, dedication, and collaboration in developing a national resource that will support a future-focused, national fire and rescue service.
All that remains is to now welcome you to the Recruitment Hub, and we sincerely hope that you find the suite of information and resources helpful to you.
