Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30

About the Bowerhill Workshop

The Bowerhill Workshop are a small hardworking team that deliver an essential service to the Wiltshire Fire Stations and Devizes Training Centre.

We support Fire Stations with their Fleet and Equipment from Salisbury to Cricklade. In the role of Administrator, you will support the Workshop Supervisor as well as HGV and Equipment Technicians to ensure the Workshop runs smoothly.

Your front of house working location will welcome Suppliers, Colleagues and Senior Management to the Workshop so you will be responsible for building and maintaining excellent working relationships within the Fire Service.

You will play a significant role in ensuring compliance is maintained in relation to the legislative and regulatory work that is carried out within the Workshop.

As a Workshop AdministratorĀ in our Assets department you will:

  • Act as a first point of contact for Workshop visitors and will respond to a wide range of enquiries.
  • You will be required to communicate effectively to colleagues and external customers in person, via the phone, on email and by letter.
  • Assist the Workshop Supervisors to process orders and services through direct contact with suppliers and contractors.
  • Support the financial administration of the Workshops, by raising purchase orders, coding on our financial system and producing financial summary reports.

What makes you our ideal Workshop Administrator?

  • You will be highly organised and able to handle a broad range of administrative tasks whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a positive attitude to internal/external customer care.
  • You will be able to competently use Office 365 to produce documents, spreadsheets and emails. You will also be willing to learn how to use new systems and programmes.
  • You will be able to work well as part of a team and also work independently.
  • You will ideally have some experience of using a vehicle fleet management solution/ system.
