The application of the Extrication In Trauma (EXIT) Project supports the promotion of self-extrication for a casualty trapped in a mode of transport. This content will be used by other emergency services or rescue organisations that are in attendance. This requires some changes to the hazard, Trapped casualty: Mode of transport and its control measures:
- Situational awareness: Trapped casualty in a mode of transport
- Casualty-centred rescue from a mode of transport
- Casualty-centred rescue from a mode of transport: Appropriate access
The changes have been approved by the NFCC Operational Preparedness, Response and Resilience Committee and have now been uploaded to the Operational Guidance and Training Specification for Search, rescue and casualty care. This includes just one additional strategic action, which will be reflected in the Strategic Gap Analysis tool.
Attached is a PDF version of the affected hazard and control measures prior to the changes for your comparison purposes.
