Revised guidance and training specification

Date: 07/02/2025

Product type: Operational Guidance

Product area: Industry

Link:

Each section of Operational Guidance is reviewed on a routine basis. The previous Operational Guidance for Industry was published in 2017. The revised guidance has considered user feedback and operational learning.

The content was originally delivered in two products; the Operational Guidance and Supplementary Information. However, as the latter contains some elements of guidance, the opportunity has been taken to combine the products. The aim is to provide more informative guidance in a single location, making it more accessible for fire and rescue services to implement.

This has resulted in the creation of some new hazards and control measures, including:

  • Illegal industries
  • Waste and recycling
  • Motor vehicle repair workshops
  • Mines, mineshafts and quarries
