Fire contaminants risk assessment – Equipment consultation

National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) are seeking feedback on a suite of fire contaminants risk assessment templates designed to support fire and rescue services in developing and reviewing local risk assessments. The templates identify common hazards associated with exposure to fire contaminants and provide control measures for services to consider.

This consultation relates to the proposed risk assessment template for firefighting equipment that may become contaminated during operational or training activities. The assessment considers the risks associated with the use, handling, transportation, storage, cleaning, inspection and maintenance of contaminated equipment and outlines best-practice control measures.
