Fire contaminants risk assessment – Estates and premises consultation
Closing Date: 23/11/2026
Consultation Status: Open
National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) are seeking feedback on a suite of fire contaminants risk assessment templates designed to support fire and rescue services in developing and reviewing local risk assessments. The templates identify common hazards associated with exposure to fire contaminants and provide control measures for services to consider.
This consultation relates to the proposed risk assessment template for estates and premises. The assessment addresses the foreseeable hazards associated with fire contaminants within fire service premises and training environments and outlines best-practice control measures to minimise exposure, reduce the risk of harm to personnel, and prevent the transfer of contaminants within and beyond the workplace.
