NFCC Prevention Committee bring together knowledgeable and experienced subject matter experts from across the fire and rescue service. They provide leadership, oversight and professional expertise, helping to identify emerging issues, monitor progress and support delivery of national priorities. Prevention Committee terms of reference can be found here.

NFCC’s Prevention Committee adopted the following definition:

NFCC Committees are select groups of interested and knowledgeable subject matter experts (SMEs). They are appointed to consider, explore, take action or report on matters relating to their topic. The Prevention Committee provides scrutiny directly to the NFCC Prevention Hub – who are responsible in providing national leadership and practical support to Fire and Rescue Services (FRSs) and partners to reduce preventable harm and make communities safer, through its prevention and safeguarding workstreams.
