“It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service Chief Fire Officer Rob Taylor, following a sudden and short illness.

“Our deepest condolences are with Rob’s family, friends and colleagues at this time of unimaginable loss.

“Rob served with both Derbyshire and Greater Manchester fire and rescue services but his influence and sense of duty extended way beyond those two services.

“Rob served his community with dedication and passion, showing exceptional leadership and I know how proud Rob was at becoming Chief Fire Officer of Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and the impact he would undoubtedly have.

“He is a huge loss to the fire and rescue service, and he will be missed greatly.

“Our thoughts are with Derbyshire FRS and all of those who knew him at this saddest of times.”
