Background:

NFCC are looking to recruit an individual to support the Chair of Volunteering Committee and Volunteering Network Group. The position sits under NFCC’s Volunteering Committee, who report to the NFCC Prevention Committee.

This is a unique opportunity for development and to significantly influence the future of volunteering within the Fire Sector and raise its profile. If you are a dedicated individual eager to make a difference in volunteering while enhancing your own skills, knowledge, and experience, this role is an excellent opportunity for you.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Have a strong and consistent voice on the work of volunteering
  • Support and deputise for the Chair and represent volunteering if needed, at meetings including the Volunteering Network Group and Volunteering Committee and Prevention Committee ensuring continuity and effective leadership.
  • Attend and contribute to Volunteering Network Group and Committee meetings and various workstreams

The role involves:

  • Supporting on matters relating to Volunteering
  • Working with relevant external organisations to develop and maintain relationships with FRSs at a national level
  • Liaising with agencies and regulators where appropriate to ensure compliance.
  • Identify opportunties to collaborate with other NFCC Leads on related topic
  • Identify and support Workstream activity

We are looking for: 

  • Experience of working at a local or national level with multiple stakeholders and the wider volunteering sector.
  • Experience of leading or co-ordinating volunteers in the Fire Sector
  • A good understanding of the volunteering opportunities, barriers and difference in approach across the UK’s Fire and Rescue Services.
  • A great communicator, who has a real passion for Volunteering
  • Has previous experience of bringing partners together to achieve a common goal.
