New opportunities; new perspectives

Leonardo Royal Hotel, Oxford

We are delighted to be holding this years NFCC Spring Conference on 19^th and 20^th May in Oxford.

Taking our usual members event format, the event will begin with networking and registration from 11.30 – 1pm on 19^th where lunch will be provided.  Conference sessions will take place during the afternoon of the 19^th followed by our networking dinner that evening.  Conference will resume on the morning of 20^th concluded with lunch.

Programme Content

Aimed at senior leaders we will be covering a host of hot topics facing the sector over the two days.  The full agenda will be released shortly but below you can find a snap shot of what will be covered each day.

Day 1:

• Opening address from the new NFCC Chair Phil Garrigan.
• Keynote address from the Minister for Fire – Alex Norris MP
• Addressing misconduct: Sharing models and learning, followed by panel session
• Fire funding and the spending review: Panel discussion looking at the future of fire funding; the case for investment; risks and opportunities
• Operational Response: A session focused on post Grenfell learning

Day 2:

Day two will see a focus on our continuous drive to improve culture

• Keynote address from T/Chief Constable Maggie Blyth, national lead for the National Police Chiefs Council on Violence against women and girls. Maggie will share learning from policing and more widely on responses to tackling VAWG and the role of Fire in supporting this.
• Internal launch of the next phase of the NFCC Culture action plan
• Responding to contaminants: Presentation and panel discussion
• CPD: Interactive workshop from a ‘Kinder Life’ Home – A Kind Life exploring the evidence and practice around kinder leadership skills and learning lessons from the front-line on culture change. To include learning from the work with the London Ambulance Service.

Event audience

 The conference is for NFCC Members and is aimed at senior leaders within those organisations.  The conference seeks to bring together fire service leaders and those working in the FRS sector to share learning and knowledge, make new connections, and ultimately to improve public and firefighter safety. If you know of people in your organisation who have never attended an NFCC event and would benefit from attendance, please pass the information on.

 Suppliers to the sector

We will offering the opportunity for suppliers to the sector  to promote their products and brand alongside the conference. Information on event sponsorship and exhibiting is available on the link and can be booked in the ticket options.

Important Booking Information: Please do not book tickets that state ‘Bookable by NFCC Staff only’ – these tickets are for speakers and can only be booked by the NFCC events team. If you book this option you may be charged an additional admin fee to correct the booking.

Cancellation

Delegates – within 7 working days of the event no refunds can be provided.
Exhibitors – We are unable to accept stand cancellations within 21 workings days of the event.
