Control Staff Transferees – Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service

Eligibility:

• Candidate is a competent Control Firefighter, Control Crew Manager or Control Watch Manager, either currently employed or have left their Service within the last 3 years.
• In date Control Licence or equivalent indicator of competence (at point of leaving)
• No outstanding ‘unspent’ disciplinary warnings. If you are currently subject to a management enquiry or disciplinary investigation, any appointment and subsequent offer will be subject to a risk assessment on a case-by-case basis

You must:

· Have 4 GCSE passes – Grade A*-C / 9-4, including English and Mathematics; or equivalent Level 2 qualification; or higher-level relevant qualification; or have at least six months of relevant experience of working in an emergency service/military control room environment.
· Be a minimum of 17 and a half years of age at point of application; however, if successful, you will need to be 18 years old at the point of appointment
· Be able to provide a commitment to the shift working pattern
· Have the right to work in the UK
· Not have any unspent criminal convictions
· Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and other software packages, with good keyboard skills
· Be able to establish a rapport with callers

This is an open and ongoing campaign. Selection processes will be undertaken in accordance with workforce and succession planning requirements.
