Heritage/Healthcare Co-Ordinator – London Fire Brigade

LFB is looking for talented and experienced people with the relevant fire safety specialist knowledge, who are interested in a permanent opportunity in the Prevention and Protection’s Projects and Assurance team to fulfil our vacancies that have arisen.

The role of the Healthcare/Heritage Coordinator is key to ensuring these areas of London’s built environment are supported in their compliance with fire safety legislation. The successful applicants will be expected to keep fully appraised of technical Heritage/Healthcare knowledge and be committed to continuous learning and improvement. The role includes the support and development of staff within the LFB through professional competence standards. The coordinator(s) will support Team Leaders and officers with relevant qualifications and ā€œTagsā€ in teams and departments to undertake their roles and responsibilities in line with personal development records (PDR), RBIP work and general fire safety duties.

he post holder will:

• Be highly motivated and able to work on their own and with a range of stakeholders.

• Be willing to undertake further learning and development and develop others.

• Have good interpersonal skills

• Be flexible with time management and movement across various teams pan London.

• Have good organisational skills, able to manage numerous work streams under pressure and prioritise objectives.

• Have good written and verbal communication skills.

There are 3 permanent positions. The positions are interlinked for department and role resilience. The position’s base location is at Union Street; however, the work undertaken will involve working with all teams and departments and therefore requires pan London working. It is essential that those interested maintain CPD, relevant fire safety knowledge and skills as well as their additional qualifications to undertake their specific roles e.g. HTM qualification for healthcare including undertaking the specialised housing course.

These opportunities are open to external applicants and internal applicants FRS and Operational permanent staff (competent Fire Safety Inspecting Officers FRS D and Sub Officers)

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Ideally will have a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or working towards it. It would be advantageous for applicants to have relevant qualifications or be able to reference competence in key areas. For example – HTM for Healthcare, specialised housing and relevant care assessment in a personal development record, heritage background qualification.

Salary: £43,636 - £49,961 per annum
