Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service is committed to protecting and supporting the people of Cornwall through prevention, protection, and response. We are looking for a dedicated and community-focused Community Prevention Home Fire Safety Technician to help deliver our prevention strategy and improve safety outcomes for our most vulnerable residents.

About the Role:
As a Prevention Home Fire Safety Technician, you will play a vital role in reducing fire risk and promoting safety across Cornwall. You’ll work directly with individuals, families, and partner agencies to deliver targeted interventions, raise awareness, and support those most at risk.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out Home Fire Safety Visits and deliver tailored fire safety advice.
Identify and support vulnerable individuals through risk assessments and safeguarding referrals.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high quality Home Fire Safety Visits to reduce fire risk in individuals’ properties.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service performance reporting.

Essential Criteria:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in a community.
Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Cornwall.

Desirable:
Knowledge of fire safety, safeguarding, or public health principles.
Experience supporting vulnerable or high-risk individuals.

Salary: £26,957 - £31,869

Contract type: Part Time
