National Resilience Mass Decontamination Capability Officers – Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service

Location: An agreed base of work. Requirement for national travel

As the Lead Authority for National Resilience (NR), Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are seeking applications from existing FRS specialists who wish to undertake a secondment to the CBRNe Mass Decontamination Capability as a Mass Decontamination Officer.

The successful individuals will be responsible for the delivery of the agreement between the National Resilience Lead Authority and MHCLG to manage assurance, training activities, co-ordinate national assets to maintain MD specialist response and contribute to the MD Review (ND2). In addition to supporting the wider MD capability work as required; they will be required to provide operational cover as part of National Resilience.

All activities will be undertaken under the oversight of the Group Manager to ensure alignment with National Resilience objectives and the functional plan.

This position requires strong operational knowledge of MD equipment, processes, understanding of NR governance structures, multi-agency, and cross government response coordination, and emergency preparedness planning. The officer will work closely with Fire and Rescue Services (FRS), NHS, HMG, UKHSA, MoD, NPCC, and other key stakeholders.
