Location: This role is based at Trowbridge Fire Station with very limited opportunities to work from home.

As a PPE and Systems Officer in our Assets department you will:
- Be responsible for providing and managing the service wide PPE function including the issue of a wide range of PPE, stock management, contract management and project support i.e. research and development of new products, working with the Supplies Manager to implement new working practices.
- Managing the Respiratory Protection Equipment (RPE) programme including project management and implementation of the RPE face fit programmes complying with RPE standard INDG479 and Health & Safety at work act.
- Assist with overall budget management within PPE and Supplies remits, the postholder is required to forecast, plan and control stock levels for PPE, to assist the Supplies and PPE Manager and Fleet and Equipment Manager in building budgets and gaining efficiencies
What makes you our ideal PPE and Systems Officer?
- IOSH Managing Safely / Level 3 or willingness to work towards this / demonstrable equivalent level experience in a PPE environment
- Previous experience of working within the guidelines of the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992
- Proven experience of building and maintaining working relationships with a wide range of contacts, both inside and outside of the organisation

Other Information:
- You must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfil the significant travel requirements of the role. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available. Please note Service vehicles are primarily manual transmission only. There will be regular travel across Wiltshire, with occasional travel in Dorset.

- The role involves occasional evening and weekend working.
- A Standard Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment.

- Upon appointment you will be required to adhere to the requirements of a Health Surveillance Programme and attend an Occupational health appointment for baseline readings.
