About this roleÂ
We are seeking an experienced  Strategic Public Health Lead to join our Prevention Hub, playing a key role in improving community safety and wellbeing across the UK.Â
The Prevention Hub drives innovation and excellence in prevention activity, supporting Fire and Rescue Services to meet national standards in prevention and safeguarding. This role sits at the heart of a person-centred approach to reducing fire risk and improving outcomes for communities.Â
You will provide expert public health leadership, insight, and evidence-based advice helping shape national prevention strategies and ensuring interventions are effective, measurable, and impactful.Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
- Lead the implementation of a national Person-Centred Framework to reduce fire risk in homes.Â
- Provide strategic public health advice to support delivery of prevention and safeguarding priorities.Â
- Analyse research, data, and emerging trends to improve understanding of risks and vulnerabilities.Â
- Support development of evidence-based interventions and evaluation frameworks to measure impact.Â
- Work collaboratively with national stakeholders, including Fire and Rescue Services and government partners.Â
- Act as a key point of contact for prevention and community resilience during major incidents.Â
- Lead or support development of national guidance and inter-agency programmes.Â
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and partnership working across the sector.Â
We are looking for: Â
A highly motivated public health professional with a strong track record of delivering strategic impact and working collaboratively across complex systems.Â
You will have:Â
- A Master’s degree in Public Health (or equivalent experience).Â
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership working experience. Â
- Knowledge of prevention approaches, safeguarding, and public sector systems. Â
- Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills. Â
- Experience using evaluation frameworks to demonstrate impact.Â
- Confidence influencing across organisational boundaries and managing complexity. Â
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Â
- Willingness to travel across the UK.Â
