Lead Role name: Fire Finance Network Chair
Background:
NFCC are looking to recruit an individual to the role of Fire Finance Network Chair. The position sits under NFCC’s Finance Committee and reports to the Finance Committee Chair. The role will also act as deputy chair of the finance committee.
This role will lead in engaging with the members of the fire finance network, and will support the Finance Committee chair, acting as their deputy, working with members of the Finance Committee, with CFOs, with officials from MHCLG and wider stakeholders.
It’s an exciting opportunity to influence and engage at a strategic, national level and make a real difference to fire finances during this critical period during and after the SR.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Listen, engage and advocate for the issues of the Fire Finance Network, feeding them into the work of the Finance Committee.
- Supporting the Fire Finance Committee Chair and acting as their deputy, chairing meetings where required.
- Actively engage in a multi-agency approaches to promoting NFCC’s strategy and positions regarding fire finance
- Work with the fire finance network, finance committee, FRS and wider partners to support the development of relevant guidance, position statements and resources to assist in the work of the NFCC.
The role involves:
- Chairing the Fire Finance Network and ensuring delivery against the network workplan.
- Acting as deputy to the chair of the finance committee and helping to deliver against the committees ToR and plan.
- Working with relevant external organisations to develop and maintain relationships, and influence strategic change, at a national level.
- Proactive liaision with government officials, stakeholders, regulators and more widely.
- Close collaboration with wider NFCC Leads on related topics
We are looking for a senior strategic manager who has:
- Expertise and experience in strategic fire finance
- Experience of engaging at a local and national level with multiple stakeholders and the wider industry sector, including with central government.
- A good understanding of current fiscal strategic issues, challenges and opportunities at a local and national level.
- A good understanding of the issues and difference in approach required across the UK’s devolved nations.
- A great communicator, who has a real passion for the Fire Finance Network
- Has previous experience of chairing meetings and bringing partners together to achieve a common goal.
