Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (RPEEPs) (further update)

Further to the What’s New post published on 19 January 2026, it has been necessary to make some further changes to the content in the control measure, Evacuation and shelter.

The change request to support the update was approved by the NFCC Operational Preparedness, Response and Resilience Committee on 15 January. The retrospective endorsement by the NFCC Operational Guidance Forum was obtained on 18 March 2026 and the NFCC Protection Hub have recommended some minor changes.

This includes some clarification about the RPEEPs information, and adds references to building emergency evacuation plans in the control measure knowledge and a tactical action. There have been no further changes to the strategic actions.

There has also been a minor change made to the control measure, Make an effective handover to the responsible person, relating to the return of items used during an incident that are stored in a secure information box to the responsible person when closing the incident.
