Incident Command Operational Guidance Virtual Workshops

NFCC Head of the Operational Response and Fire Control Hub, Kerry Blair, alongside the Operational Response and Fire Control team, will deliver a series of online national workshops to support fire and rescue services to understand and implement recent changes to incident command operational guidance, including the removal of operational discretion and the introduction of the non‑commander decision-making guidance.
These sessions will provide clarity on the rationale for the changes, reinforce the role of professional judgement within a consistent national framework, and outline expectations for risk assessment, decision‑making and the recording of rationale.
Delivered in small, grouped sessions, the workshops will give services the opportunity to discuss the changes, explore practical implications and ask questions.
The workshops will be held on the following dates and times:
Monday 28 April 14:00
Wednesday 30 April 10:00
Wednesday 30 April 14:00

Each workshop will last approximately 90 minutes, with time allocated for questions and discussion.
Attendance is limited to a maximum of two representatives per service per session, please.
