NFCC Prevention Conference and Awards 2026;  Shaping the future of prevention – from strategy to delivery

26–27 November, Tortworth Court Hotel, South Gloucestershire.

The NFCC Prevention Conference 2026 brings together prevention leaders and practitioners from across the UK for two days of insight, collaboration and practical learning, exploring the future direction of fire and rescue prevention and how we can work together to deliver meaningful change in our communities.  Aimed at prevention professionals, leaders, partners and practitioners, the conference will explore national prevention priorities, emerging risks, evidence and innovation, while sharing practical examples of what is working across the sector.

Day 1 – Strategic Prevention

Shaping the future of prevention

The first day will focus on the strategic landscape and the issues that will shape prevention over the coming years. Sessions will explore:

  • National prevention priorities and strategic direction
  • Evidence, inspection, evaluation and improvement
  • The implications of devolution and changing national priorities
  • Emerging risks, including AI, community vulnerabilities, data and technology
  • Community resilience and horizon scanning
  • The key challenges currently facing the prevention sector

Day 2 – Prevention in Practice

Learning through collaboration

Day two moves from strategy to delivery, showcasing innovative approaches, award-winning practice and practical learning that delegates can take back to their own organisations:

  • Fire Health Consensus – partnership working in practice
  • Award-winning prevention practice and organisational learning
  • Partnership case studies and behaviour change
  • Innovation in prevention
  • Practical, facilitated workshops
  • Opportunities to explore evidence-based prevention, leadership and governance, community vulnerabilities, partnerships and community resilience

2026 will also see a series of workshops on day 2 which will cover areas including home safety, children and young people, safeguarding, road safety, water safety, arson and wildfire, alongside evidence, data sharing, risk, partnership governance and organisational learning.
