NFCC Spring Conference: Shaping the FutureÂ
Annual Spring Conference for NFCC Individual Members.
Our annual Spring Conference for senior leaders is taking place on 22nd and 23rd April at the Leicester Marriott. The full agenda can be found here: Spring Conference Agenda.
As we move into a year of change, with national, international and our own internal NFCC Chair elections we are delighted to be joined by a fantastic line-up of speakers over the two days as follows:
- Jaee Samant, Director General of Public Safety at the Home Office
- Zoe Wilkinson, Deputy Director of Fire Safety at the Home Office talking to senior leaders about Minimum Service Levels
- Sal Naseem, Policing and Inclusive Culture Expert
- Shadow Fire Minister Alex Norris MP (TBC)
- HMI Andy Cooke talking about the latest State of Fire report and HMICFRS priorities
The conference will follow our usual format beginning with refreshments and networking at 11.30 on 22nd. The conference will take place from 1pm on 22nd and we will close with lunch on 23rd. This year we are delighted to confirm that at the networking dinner on the evening of 22nd, we will be celebrating the success of everything apprenticeships with our national apprenticeship awards – details below.
National Apprenticeship Awards 2024
We are delighted to be hosting the National Fire & Rescue Apprenticeship Awards at our Members Spring Conference dinner on 22nd April. The awards recognise and celebrate the achievements and contributions of apprentices, employers, and training providers.
There are 6 awards that you can nominate for as follows:
Apprentice of the Year:
– Non Operational Apprentice of the Year
– Operational Apprentice of the Year
Apprenticeship Provider of the Year: Recognising outstanding data and overall performance, Innovative Training Delivery
Excellence in Apprenticeship Support: Recognising an outstanding team or individual committed to providing the best support for their apprentices.
Inclusion Champion Award:Â Individual recognised for their commitment to improve Diversity, Culture and Inclusion in Fire Sector Apprenticeships
Outstanding Apprenticeship Project:Â Projects that have made a significant impact on the community, sustainability or charity
Apprenticeship Champion Award: The nomination will come from a colleague or contact who recognises their ‘champion’ credentials. The nominator will be required to write a short application, explaining why they think the individual is an ‘Apprenticeship Champion’.
The judges are looking for strong advocates of apprenticeships who showcase how they proactively go beyond their normal duties to promote apprenticeships as an excellent career route and a way to boost business success.

Please use one form per nomination you are welcome to make multiple nominations.
Shortlisted nominees will be notified by 5th April and will have the opportunity to book tickets to the Awards dinner on 22nd April where winners will be announced.

Important Information: Please do not book tickets that state ‘Bookable by NFCC Staff only’ – these tickets are for speakers and can only be booked by the NFCC events team. If you book this option you may be charged an additional admin fee to correct the booking.
