Fire Safety Inspector – Hampshire and Isle Of Wight Fire and Rescue Service

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) as a Fire Safety Inspector, working from one of the 5 hubs based within HIWFRS.

In the role you will undertake Risk Based Inspection Programme, both pre-planned and reactive. You will be providing advice, support and guidance to business owners and others, to help them to reduce the risk from fire. You will also work with other authorities to undertake statutory consultations. You will also be responding to Alleged Fire Risks; enforcing the Fire Safety Order by collecting evidence and writing reports; and evaluating small events via the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) process. In addition, you will be reviewing and updating Policy documents.

To be successful in the role, you need knowledge of current fire safety legislation and how it is applied in the UK Fire and Rescue Service. Previous experience in a fire safety related post is desirable, but not essential.

You’ll receive full training, including accredited qualifications, and be mentored throughout your development by a member of the team.
