People Partner – Policy and Culture – Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our People Group. You will be joining our enthusiastic, hardworking, small, and supportive group, reporting to the Assistant Director People. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and passionate about people policy and culture, with a positive approach to working on initiatives.

You will be working with the Assistant Director People, People Manager, L&OD Manager and Recruitment Partner to work on all things policy and culture-related initiatives. We have a new people strategy in place and a supporting people and plan to deliver and that’s where you come in – if you enjoy working on people policies and initiatives through a values, culture and ED&I lens then we would welcome your application.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating our people policy pipeline and reviewing policies and procedures.
  • Delivering a range of people group initiatives, all linked to our values and culture.
  • Facilitating the inclusion networks, channels and frameworks that support a good culture.

Being visible and proactive in building effective and credible working relationships with colleagues, managers, employees, and representative bodies.

About you

In addition, we are looking for the following:

  • Must have a CIPD qualification at Level 5 or actively working towards, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience of working in HR on policy and initiatives, and understanding of good practice in relation to both areas.
  • A natural ability to be able to coach, advise and support managers at all levels with their understanding of policy and the people group initiatives.
  • Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders to develop policies and deliver initiatives.
