We currently have a number of exciting opportunities for Trainers/Instructors to join our experienced and knowledgeable team onsite at the Fire Service College
(FSC) We are working with the London Fire Brigade (LFB) to deliver a tactical ventilation/positive pressure ventilation courses for operational personnel.

This role is a fixed term contract until March 2026. The hours will be 40 per week, with the flexibility to work some weekends. Hours/days may differ week to week.

Job Description:

What you will be doing:

  • Training groups of delegates in both classroom and practical environments
  • Delivering all aspects of the training course to the LFB delegates including modern-day firefighting techniques, in a variety of scenarios that will mean every operational firefighter of LFB will have the basic knowledge and skills to operate PPV fans in conjunction with ventilation strategies when required at operational incidents.
  • Training which will run over 2 days with no more than 6 days (3 courses) in a row. You will be rostered to work across the  contract and will work no more than 40 hours per week, between Monday and Sunday.
  • Providing verbal and written feedback to delegates
  • Ongoing assessment of delegates
  • Acting as Safety Officer during live fire exercises – always promoting a positive attitude towards the development and maintenance of Health and Safety culture

What we are looking for:

  • Accredited Breathing Apparatus Instructor – Essential
  • Accredited Compartment Fire Behaviour Instructor – Desirable
  • Accredited Tactical Ventilation/Positive Ventilation Instructor – Desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safely, or H+S Level 2 Qualsafe qualification – Desirable
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written
  • Basic understanding of IT Systems experience (MS Office)
