Organisational Improvement Manager – North West Fire Control (NWFC)

North West Fire Control is a public sector company set up exclusively by the Fire and Rescue Services in the North West to jointly handle all 999 emergency calls and has been responsible for mobilising firefighters and fire engines to incidents in Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, and Cheshire for the last 10years.

We are pleased to invite applications for a brand-new, permanent, and full-time role created to compliment and complete the NWFC Company Leadership Team.  The role will be fundamental in supporting the achievement of performance excellence and continuous improvement across our organisation and will encompass:

  1. Contributing to the strategic leadership and direction of NWFC.
  2. Leading on the development of NWFC’s short, medium, and long-term business plans and Annual Delivery Plans.
  3. Leading Operational and System Support functions and Organisational Improvement Teams with a responsibility for performance management and learning and development.
  4. Providing on-call cover as part of a Gold Command (strategic) rota.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for you to personally shape and drive organisational improvement through leadership of the Organisational Improvement Team, Operational Support and System Support Teams.  You will be responsible for leading the development, drafting and production of NWFC’s 3–5-year Business Plan, Annual Delivery plans and Corporate Risk Register, supported by a Programme Management Office.

As leader of the Organisational Improvement Team, you will be responsible for engaging with our partner fire and rescue services to understand their current and future operational response and mobilising requirements and ensuring that NWFC’s obligations set out in its Agreement for Services are met.

As the Organisational Improvement Manager, you will be expected to inspire our people with a sense of purpose in, and ownership of, the commitments set out in NWFC’s Annual Delivery Plan which are also strongly aligned to its Code of Ethics.
