We are advertising an excellent opportunity for an NFCC/FRS colleague to step into a national leadership role and support NFCC and FRS colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity, as the landscape of EDI has never been so prevalent and the need for sector led improvement so necessary.

The role will consist of supporting the delivery of the EDI work which is driven by the People Culture and Leadership plan. This work is key to supporting services to deliver the culture improvements with toolkits, products and good practice identified across the sector.

The role will help to drive forward the good practice and identify the good work the sector is undertaking to deliver change and positive outcomes for our people and our communities.

In recent years, the role of the NFCC to lead in EDI has become significant and equally more rewarding. This is an opportunity to learn about the NFCC, the role of Home Office, National Networks, LGA and Firefighters charity, create relationships and develop networking opportunities.

Expressions of interest are invited from Principal Officers with a track record of establishing and delivering strategic objectives and leading change in a challenging environment. This is an established position that offers the opportunity to set the Protection direction of the NFCC and build on the successful work to date.

About the role:

This is a great opportunity for a colleague to step into the role and lead this critical area of work for the NFCC and UK FRS.

The lead will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the sector to drive improvement in EDI
  • Setting the strategic direction for EDI across the sector
  • Delivery of the EDI plan
  • Establishing and maintaining networks
  • Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships

There is a requirement to represent the NFCC in relevant areas of work with other agencies, in meetings and conferences as may be appropriate as well as resourcing the majority of support for their own committee meetings.
