The Fire and Rescue Maritime Response (FRMR) lead role requires a collaborative individual who has tenacity to work with stakeholders from the public and private sectors across the maritime environment.  Incidents involving ships are rare but complex and involve a large number of organisations operating in a different manner to incidents on land.  Therefore, building an understanding of the maritime sector in order to build relationships and seek opportunities to work together is essential.

Having an understanding of the tactics and operations with incidents on ships would be ideal, but not essential.  You will need to be able to represent NFCC at a strategic level and work with UK FRS to develop policy and procedures for our statutory duties in vessels alongside, as well as an increasing demand for risk management at sea, which is currently delivered by a small cohort of FRS.

The role reports directly to the NFCC Operations Committee (OPRR) and you will work closely with CFO John Roberts (WYFR) and DCFO Mick Osbourne (BFRS.)

The NFCC would like to thank DCFO Stewart Adamson (Hampshire & IW FRS) for his leadership throughout his career and wishes him well in the future, following his forthcoming retirement.
